On October 16th and 17th , millions all over the world will once again Stand Up and Speak Out against poverty and inequality and in support of the Millennium Development Goals. Snail Aid has been invited to participate! We will speak about our experiences in developing countries in Genova, Piazza San Lorenzo on Saturday 17th from 15,30 to 17.30

We are happy to announce that the project LOCOSTRA - LOw COst TRActor for Humanitarian Demining, has won!
Snail Aid worked in close collaboration with the University of Genova to write the proposal and is now an implementing partner. The project regards the adaptation of a 4 wheel tractor to humanitarian demining operations, by developing a modular remote control system and blast resistant wheels. The project is funded by the Italian Ministery of Economic Development.

Emanuela (ceppo) is just back from her summer big trip!

This time she has been travelling through Senegal, Mauritania, Western Sahara, Morocco and Spain. In Mauritania she had the chance to visit the mine action centre, that is willing to collaborate to Disarmadillo project! We are happy to announce that the paper about the possible use of agricultural technologies in humanitarian demining we have been working on in the last period is now published on the annual edition of the Journal of Mine Action, issue 13.2, summer 2009. The online version is here

On the 31st of May 2009 Rotary Club "San Giorgio" of Genova, organized a gulf tournament in favour of Disarmadillo project. It has been a wonderful day! With this support we hope to be able to carry on a considerable amount of work on the second protoype of the machine.
